Musician for Worship Arts Team
Canal Street Church: A Mosaic Community
Searching for a POC musician, with proficient experience in Gospel and/or Latin worship styles. Preference is keyboard/organ/piano player. Potentially interested in other instrumentalists. Being able to sing is a plus, though not required.

Time Commitment: Serve by playing music every Sunday for worship services. Attend rehearsals (usually Sunday AM, before church, occasional mid-week, evening practice). Available for some seasonal services such as during Advent or Lent. Call time 8:30am, service starts at 10am, ends around 12pm. Approx. 4 hours / week.
Compensation: Compensation will be based upon experience and availability. For the total number of services during the month based upon availability, a monthly stipend may be offered between $400-750 per month. The church offers an apartment located on the second floor of the church. The use of the apartment may be given in addition to or in lieu of the monthly stipend, again based upon availability of the candidate.
Other Information: Other avenues for expanding the role and work hours include administrative/clerical skills, ministry experience, children/youth, discipleship, missions, etc. Let us know if there’s another area of interest in church life that could complement your participation on the worship arts team.
After initial interviews, if we would like to move forward with your application, we will ask that you participate in a 3 week trial period (paid). It is our hope that during that time, we can get to know you and you can get to know us. Working together with the other members of the worship team and under the direction of the minister of worship, will allow both you and us to discern if this would be a good fit.
